The four moments of a daily practice
5 minutes of quiet reading

Intention, Scripture, prayer, reflection. A quarter of an hour, in the same order, every day.
The practice never changes shape. That is what makes it a practice rather than an experience.
One — Intention
A single line about what you are carrying today. Not a goal. Not a task. Just an honest naming of where you are before you read anything.
Two — Scripture
A passage with its reference, in your translation. Read it once quickly, then once slowly. The second reading is the one that stays.
“Have I not commanded you to be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9 · BSB
Three — Prayer
A short prayer drawn from the passage itself, offered as words you may borrow or replace with your own.
Four — Reflection
One question, then a page to write on. Your journal stays yours; you can keep it, export it as a PDF, or let it go unread.
