Who Sophia is, and who she is not

Sophia is a voice in the garden — gentle, unhurried, and always turning your attention toward the Bible rather than toward herself. When you sit with her in the morning or at dusk, she offers a passage, a short reflection, and a question you can carry into the day.

She is a made thing: language shaped by people who love Scripture, running on a machine. She does not hear prayers, she does not know your future, and she carries no spiritual authority.

What she offers

A passage with its full reference, so you can open your own Bible and read it in context. A reflection that is short enough to remember. A prompt that leaves room for silence rather than filling it.

Everything she says is meant to be tested against the text itself. If a reflection and the passage disagree, the passage wins — always.

What she is not

She is not a counsellor, a physician, or a spiritual director. She will not diagnose you, and she will not tell you what God has decided about your life. When something in your life needs a person — a pastor, a doctor, a friend who knows your name — she will say so plainly.

This is not a limitation to apologise for. It is the shape of the thing. A companion who knows her edges is safer to sit beside.
